INTRODUCTION
Hi and assalamualaikum everyone, my name is Nur Aisya Binti Norhamizan. I’m from Shah Alam, Selangor. I was born on 4th April 2001. I’m currently study at UITM Alor Gajah, Malacca. I’ve been offered to study Diploma in Tourism Management. This is one of the assignments that I have to submit before our sem starts. Enjoy!
TOPIC 1 : GETTING READY TO LEARN
GET READY TO LEARN IN A UNIVERSITY :
I used to study at my primary school and my high school for 11 years. After i graduated my high school, i got an offered to pursue my studies at UITM Alor Gajah, Malacca. It affected me so much because I didn’t used to live far away from my parents. Somehow, i feel so excited to start my new life at a new place. Although it’s gonna make a huge difference environment to me, i need to prepare my physical and mental to face whatever happens next. Here are some of the difference between High School and College :

- Learning Style Inventory
All students have different types of study. I took learning style test on the first day I met our classmate. Our lecturer give us a task to complete which is the learning style task. My learning style is auditory learner which mean i prefered to learn by listening. I’m gonna add some information about how students auditory learn :

TOPIC 2 : GOAL SETTINGS
WHAT IS GOAL?
For me, goal is something that I work hard to achieve, so i can make my family proud of me.
- MY ACADEMIC AND PERSONAL GOALS
THE OBSTACLES
- A shy person
- 0% of confident
- Lot of successful people
- Lack of money
- Fear of the new place
WHAT CAN I DO TO SOLVE MY OBSTACLES?
I also have a quote motivation for me to keep going to achieve my dream which is :
TOPIC 3 : TIME MANAGEMENT
WHAT IS TIME?
- Time is the progression of events from the past into the future. Time moves only in one direction. It’s possible to move forward in time, but not backward.
Basically, time management is important for students to manage their time in the right order so they don’t have to rush when doing something. These are some tips that us, students can follow to make our job easier :
– Benefits of time management and organization skills
- MY SCHEDULE
- JOB TASK ANALYSIS
- PRIORITIZED TASK LIST
TOPIC 4 : LIBRARY AND CAMPUS TOUR

As you can see, this is the in front of the UITM Alor Gajah, Malacca. I’ve been here for the past 4 weeks. It’s actually took me a long time to explore inside the campus because the campus it’s quite big. I’m gonna show you guys the most visited places in here.

This Tasik Tun Fatimah is a must place to go. The view, the vibes and the greenish plants and trees are the recommended place for us to release our stress or to do some exercises. They usually come here for warm up their bodies or having a walk around there. Because you know, we need to have an active body for intelligent brain.

So this is our library. It’s kinda big once you got in there. There’s a lot of books, journal and some magazines for students to sit down and read. Students can also borrow books as much as they want but they have to bring their student card and need to return as time given. All the books have been divided to their own genre such as tourism, business and etc.. As soon as you come in, they would be a counter which all the librarians are there. They also have a ‘Ruang Santai’ which is some students gonna chill over there doing some assignments or watching televisions. They also provide some computers for those students who doesn’t have a laptop so it’s gonna make their job much easier. In the library, they also have photostat machine, laminate paper and etc..
We are making a video about our campus, so we’re gonna upload the video as soon as possible!!
TOPIC 5 : MEMORY LEARNING AND CONCENTRATION

1 ) Memory learning
WHAT IS MEMORY?
For me, memory is something that we gonna remember about a few things in our daily life. It’s actually based on our ability to remember.

Based on the diagram above, we have three types of memory. The first type is sensory memory which is you gonna remember the thing only for a while, example like something that is not important to remember. The second type is short – term memory which is you’re gonna remember that thing in a few days or possibly weeks. Last but not least, long term memory. It’s usually something you read or watch everyday such as reading books, watching movies or left a big impact in your life. So, it’s gonna be in a long term memory because you’ll be able to remember the thing for a years.
Memory manage :
- make a mind map so it’s gonna be easy to memorize.
- make it short and simple.
- know your limit.
- repeat the information many times.
2 ) Concentration

WHAT IS CONCENTRATION?
- Concentration means the action or power of focusing all one’s attention.
STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE OUR CONCENTRATION
- Be a good listener when someone’s talking in front.
- Focus in class. So you don’t miss the important point.
- Be an active learner. Ask them if you have a problem.
TOPIC 6 : TAKING LECTURER NOTES

WHAT IS TAKING LECTURER NOTES?
In my opinion, taking lecturer notes mean we write down what they told us in a short sentence. By writing the notes, we can use it to revise or preparation for the examination day.
HOW TO TAKE LECTURER NOTES?
- Listen to what your lecturer says and write down the important points.
- If you’re a slow writer, you can use your phone to record what your lecturer says and write down in your creative ways.
- Highlight, underline and capitalize your notes. By using this method, it’s easier to make out key points in your lecture notes.
TOPIC 7 : ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AND PERFORMANCE.

1 ) Avoiding Plagiarism

WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone’s idea or work passing them off as one’s own. This usually happens when our lecture give us assignments and one of the students are too lazy to do it and using their friends for their own sake. They usually copy and paste it to make it look like their own work.
HOW TO PREVENT PLAGIARISM?
- Understand the context. Understand the ideas of the reference source well in order to write it back in your own way.
- Ask your lecturer. Spend some time with your lecturer making sure you know the guidelines for the paper you are working on.
2 ) Calculation grade point average

HOW TO CALCULATE GPA AND CGPA?

3 ) Failure and Dismissal

I guess that’s the end of my blog. Thank you ❤
